The Balgrist-Stiftung, Forchstrasse 340, 8008 Zurich (“Balgrist-Stiftung”) understands that protecting your privacy is important to you and that you are interested in how your personal data is used and shared online. We respect and value the privacy of everyone visiting the website www.balgriststiftung.ch.

Subject to the limited exceptions in Section 4, we do not collect any personal data about you unless you submit an application and/or contact us (see Section 5). The personal data collected and processed by us is used only within the framework of the applicable legal provisions.

We / Us / Our refers to the Balgrist-Stiftung, as defined above.

4. What Data Do We Collect?
Subject to the information in Section 5, we do not collect any personal data from you via the website.

If you submit an application to us and/or send an email, we may collect your name, your email address, and all other information that you provide to us.


5. How Do We Use Your Data?
Where we collect personal data, it is processed and stored only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. We will comply with our obligations and safeguard your rights under the FADP and/or GDPR (where applicable) at all times. For details regarding the security of your data, see Section 6.


As mentioned, we generally do not collect personal data. If you contact us and we receive your personal data from your email or other communication, we may use it as follows:


  • To process and respond to your application / inquiry;
  • To respond to your email / contact inquiry.



You have the right to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data at any time and to request its deletion.
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties.


6. How and Where Do We Store Your Personal Data?

We store your personal data only for as long as we need it in order to use it as described in Section 5 and/or for as long as we have your consent to do so.

Your data is stored only in Switzerland.

Data security is very important to us, which is why we have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data (even if it is only your email address).


7. How Can You Access Your Personal Data?
As a data subject, you have the right to request a copy of your personal data stored by us (where such data exists). For further information, please send us an email to the email address stated in Section 10.


8. Confidentiality
Please note that access to this website and the transmission of emails to us are unencrypted. Therefore, incomplete transmission of data or access by third parties cannot be ruled out. For this reason, we ask that you do not send us confidential information by email.

Should you nevertheless transmit confidential information to us, the Balgrist-Stiftung acknowledges that information contained in submitted grant applications or similar inquiries must be treated as strictly confidential (“Confidential Information”). We generally respond to inquiries received by email via email. If you do not wish this, please indicate this in the text of your inquiry.

The above confidentiality obligation does not apply to Confidential Information that:

  • Is or becomes publicly known without breach of the obligations undertaken in this Policy; and/or
  • Was already known to the Balgrist-Stiftung at the time of receipt or disclosure, and the Balgrist-Stiftung informed the applicant immediately after receipt of the Confidential Information; and/or
  • Is disclosed to the Balgrist-Stiftung by a third party that is not bound by a confidentiality agreement with the applicant; and/or
  • Must be disclosed by the Balgrist-Stiftung due to mandatory law or due to a judicial or official order; and/or
  • Has been expressly designated in writing by the applicant as “non-confidential.”



9. Cookies

A cookie is a small data packet or text file that the browser stores on the users’ device when a website is visited. Cookies and similar technologies are used to store certain information during a session or for a later visit, for example technical session information or settings that are required for the correct functioning of the website.


Our website uses technically necessary cookies and/or local storage that are required for the operation and proper functioning of the website. These cookies are not used for tracking, analytics or marketing purposes. In particular, we do not use tracking codes such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or comparable services.
